Effective parent involvement comes when a true partnership exists between schools and families. Parent involvement can be described in a variety of ways. It can be described as attending a school event, participating in PTO, attending a scheduled meeting with their child’s teacher, serving on a committee, attending a field trip or volunteering in a classroom. Creating a partnership with families is vital to the success of the Central School Community. When looking at student achievement, it is closely related to the parent’s involvement within the school.
