INDIANAPOLIS – On Thursday, November 8, the Marching Panthers joined 107 other bands at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, for the Bands of America Grand National Championship preliminary competition. Little did they realize they were about to begin a journey to set OTHS history.
After two days of competition, the Panthers joined 37 other bands that advanced to Semis that included three other Illinois bands.
On Saturday, November 10, history was made, when after a semifinal performance for the record books, the Marching Panthers advanced to BOA Grand National Finals for the first time.
The Marching Panthers would ultimately take 12th place, coming only 0.7 points behind the next closest school.
The band returned to O’Fallon on Sunday and were greeted by a large crowd of parents, supporters, and community members at the high school.
