Join the Belleville School of Ballet and the Belleville Philharmonic Orchestra as they kick off the holiday season with the 35th performance of The Nutcracker. The magic begins with one performance on Saturday, November 17th at 7:30pm and will continue on Sunday, November 18 with 1:30pm and 5:00pm performances.
The Sunday 1:30pm performance will feature local dancer, Emerson Nieroda, as Clara, the young girl who falls asleep and dances her way through her dreams about a prince. As her dreams unfold, each and every character magically comes to life. The soldiers, dolls, mice and more dance through a story that is told like no other; through ballet.
Along with Emerson, several other O’Fallon dancers will join her in this breathtaking performance. Ella Bell, Maddie Bell, Alexis Farmer, Ashleigh Farmer, Delaney Nieroda, Josie Nieroda, Clarissa Pavao and Kayla Sanders also help to tell the story of Clara, the Nutcracker and her prince along with 120 dancers and actors from Belleville School of Ballet under the Direction of Patti Woods Harrington. In addition, featured dancers from the American Ballet Theatre include Rachel Richardson and Carlos Gonzalez. The dancers will be accompanied by more than 60 musicians with the Belleville Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of Robert Hart Baker.
The performances of the Nutcracker will take place at the Scottish Rite Bodies Theater in Belleville, IL on Saturday, November 17th at 7:30pm and on Sunday, November 18th at 1:30pm and 5:00pm. There will also be a December performance of the ballet at 1:30pm on Sunday, December 2nd at the Rickman Auditorium in Arnold, MO.
