Glowing for Grads

On April 17, OTHS lit up the athletic field at 8:20 p.m., or 20:20 in military time, for 20 minutes and 20 seconds to honor the Senior Class of 2020.

Senior Athlete Spotlight: Hayleigh Juenger

Senior softball player Hayleigh Juenger has been playing softball for 10 years, and has played on the OTHS Varsity Softball team all four years. Juenger is heading to the Ivy League in the fall.

School districts deny FOIA request for consolidation report

Four local school districts have denied a Freedom of Information Act request by the O’Fallon Weekly asking for a copy of the school district consolidation report that was presented at the April 1, 2020 BEST Committee meeting by Chamber of Commerce Consolidation Committee Chairman Dave Hopkins.

Illinois schools closed for rest of academic year

Governor JB Pritzker announced the closure of Illinois schools to in-person learning for the rest of the 2019-2020 academic year. The announcement came as the Illinois Department of Public Health announced the largest single-day increase of confirmed coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases.
