This week’s view is of the north end of the intersection of State and Lincoln in O’Fallon, ca. 1927. The building on the right was Philip H. Schildknecht’s grocery and general merchandise store. It’s now a parking lot. The one on the left was, at the time, J.C. McLanahan’s Ford car dealership and repair shop. If you look closely, you can even see a vintage gas pump at the curb next to the man in a white shirt. The building is now home to Gia’s Pizza.
