This week’s view is of the corner of State and Lincoln in downtown O’Fallon, looking east. To the left is the old Krause building at the southeast corner (still there today) that was, at the time, a drug store. Across the street to the right is the First National Bank (today’s history museum) before its 1922 remodeling. And to the right of the bank is Julius Schalter’s barber shop. The photo was taken about 1910. (Contributed by Brian Keller, O’Fallon Historical Society)
For more, stop by the O’Fallon Historical Museum, located at 101 West State Street. The Museum is open Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. and by appointment.
