This week’s view is of a band marching in the parade that was part of the grand celebration welcoming home the O’Fallon veterans of World War I. About 7,000 attended the festivities held on Labor Day, September 1, 1919. The band is crossing the railroad tracks on Lincoln Ave. with the old Central Hotel, now the location of Steven Mueller Florist, in the background.
