This week’s view is of the winning entry in the O’Fallon Township High School Homecoming parade in January 1967. Back then, Homecoming was in winter and centered around basketball. “The Red Barry” sign on the car referred to O’Fallon star player, Senior Center Barry Beedle. The Homecoming game was held Friday night, Jan. 20, 1967 with O’Fallon hosting the Triad Knights in front of a capacity crowd. O’Fallon led through most of the game but fell to the visitors in the last seconds, 60-58.
