Senior point guard, Marta Durk, is off to a hot start in her Senior season, and plans to make the most of her final season.

Marta is the daughter of Randy and Sue Durk.

Durk is currently a member of National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, Wellness Club and Leadership Council.

“I try to be as involved as I can in the school, and the community is very important to me as well. I rarely have any free time because I am always busy in the gym,” said Durk.

After high school, Durk plans to continue her basketball career somewhere, but hasn’t decided where she would like to attend yet.

Durk has set her expectations very high for the season this year saying, “I want to do better as a team than we did last year, and I think that is a very realistic with the amount of talent we have on the team. I think losing our main post player took some adjusting, but I expect the team to be very successful this season.”

During O’Fallon’s Tip-Off Classic this past weekend, Durk led all scorers for O’Fallon, scoring 59 points in just four games.

Durk commented on the tournament saying, “I think we are playing well right now as a group. We had a rough start in our first game, but I feel that we bounced back and showed a lot of heart the rest of the tournament. We worked really hard in the off season and are continuing to put in work. We all have a good sense of who we are as players and the roles we have for the team.”

Durk is a 1-2 guard on the court, but has been playing at the 1-guard position recently due to an injury.

Marta plans to keep the Panthers rolling, and says she is very excited for the season and her future in basketball.
