Southwestern Conference star Quarterback, Christian Perez, of the O’Fallon Panthers football team is dominating the conference. Perez is only a Junior, and is leading the conference in passing yards and passing touchdowns.

Perez is a very dynamic quarterback. He can punish his opponents through the air and on the ground.

“I would give myself a solid B+ on the year this far. This is only my junior year, and I feel as though I am on the right path to always improve on my skills,” Perez said. Perez currently has received a division one offer from Jackson State University.

The junior quarterback has big expectations for the playoffs. He hopes to make a deep run, and feels that his team can compete with anyone. “We play power house schools in the Southwestern Conference, and I think we deserve to be mentioned with them.”

Being the great leader and teammate that Perez is, he also wanted to compliment his offensive line in saying, “The offensive line has been very strong. With their efforts, they have given me plenty of time to get to my second and third reads fortunately. I have also been able to lead the conference in passing yards and passing touchdowns.”

When asked about his strong suit in football, Perez said, “Leadership, arm strength, and technique. The relationship I have with my teammates is great and knowing that they believe in me and my skill set is a great feeling.” Perez also mentioned that he has been playing QB since he was four years old and has had plenty of help from family and coaches.

Perez plans to continue to focus on football in the offseason as well. He trains with E.J. Jones in the offseason, who works for Next Level. Perez also said that his father has advised him to continue running track, and focus on speed and strength training. He plans to put on at least ten pounds of muscle and keeping his forty time in the 4.5-4.6 range.

Christian is also involved in Track and the Leadership Council aside from Football.

Christian is the son of Jose and Nashae Perez.
