Ryan, a senior who plays volleyball for the OTHS Panthers, said he was immediately made to feel at home at Greenville and looks forward to playing for them.
“It’s a really nice place. When I went there I immediately felt at home. The team and the coaches were really nice to me and made me feel really good. They made me want to be a part of it and I couldn’t be more excited,” Ryan said.
Ryan’s parents, Judy and Craig, are happy their son is going to be playing relatively close to home.
“My parents wanted to be able to come to my games, so I wanted to stay close,” said Ryan.
OTHS Head Coach Katelyn Hagarty said Greenville is very lucky to have Ryan on their team.
“I know Ryan is going to do great things for Greenville. They’re really lucky to have him because he’s a true team player and understands the team aspect of volleyball. Ryan is a great kid to have in a program,” Hagarty said.
Hagarty said Ryan has done very well on the court during his time at OTHS.
“Ryan has been first team All Conference his sophomore and junior year, so I would assume he will probably follow in that this year. He’s really stepped up his game and started to become a leader. He became more vocal last year so I’m excited to see what he can do this year,” she said.
