Beulah Maxine Bowles, nee Dobbs, age 88, of O’Fallon, Ill., passed away Saturday morning, September 10, 2016 at Memorial East Hospital, Shiloh, Ill., with her friends at her side.
Maxine was born December 27, 1927 in Greeley, Mo., and graduated from Centerville High School, Centerville, Mo. She had worked for the government during World War II, and had many years in retail sales. She moved to O’Fallon in 1959 and worked in the metro-east at various doctors’ offices as the office manager. She was also a representative for Mary Kay Cosmetics for over 30 years. Maxine was a faithful member of O’Fallon United Church of Christ, where she spent many volunteer hours over the years. She was an integral part of the Women’s Guild and the Funeral Luncheon committee, and also contributed to the success of the church’s annual Wurstmarkt. Maxine’s smile and gentle wit will be missed by her friends, family, and neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ira Adolf Dobbs and Rhoda Irene, nee McDaniel, Dobbs; her long-time companion Edward Trippel; special friend Dick Cramer; grandson Alex Martin; and sister-in-law Virginia Dobbs.
Surviving are her loving daughter Karen Ann Martin of Bradenton, Fla.; her brother Bill Dobbs of Salem, Mo.; nephew Dr. Tracy (Debbie) Dobbs of Knoxville, Tenn.; and her circle of dear friends from her church.

Graveside Service: 1:00 pm, Friday, September 16, 2016 at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Salem, Mo.
