SHILOH – In accord with what is now a long-standing tradition, members of the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts assembled at Shiloh Valley Cemetery on the Saturday before Memorial Day to place American Flags at the headstones of each US Military veteran buried on the grounds.

The flags were donated by VFW Post 4183, located at the south gate of Scott Air Force Base.

This year, the troop memorialized 94 veterans, using a process devised by one of the event’s original coordinators Ron Milton, a Vietnam War veteran himself.
