Boys bowling starts season off with a win over West

OTHS Boys Bowling kicked off the 2018-2019 season is style on Monday, November 12, 2018 with a win over Belleville West.  

The team started off slow and cold, matching the snowy weather outside.  Parents and coach alike where in awe when OTHS lost the first of three games by just 16 pins.  But the boys fought back, living up to team reputation.  

Game two the Panther boys put up a nice 1163 game to win by 171 pins. Led by team Captain Donny Richards with a 268 game.  Followed by senior Ryan Komm with a 253, junior Kameron Rachell with a 235, junior Larry Carter with a 212 and senior Josh Herran with a 195. In game three the team rolled a 1047, winning by 166 pins. 

Donny Richards had high series for the day with a nice 708. Donny’s first game was a 218.  But after the team loss knew the team had to step it up.  He started game two with 8 strikes followed by two 9-count spares then another strike to finish with the high game of the day with a 268.  Donny’s third game was 222 to finish off his 708 series. 

OTHS bowling coach Mike Imes was relieved that the boys came together as a team and won their first conference match. Imes felt good with the first conference match with a win for his panthers. 

Mike Imes and the OTHS Boys Varsity also traveled Joliet IL this Saturday for the Plainfield North Invitational Tournament.  Junior Josh Herran finished well with 16 place overall for scratch series. 

The boys next conference match is Wednesday November 20, 2018 against Edwardsville. Come to Saint Clair bowl to support your OTHS boys bowing team.
