Boys bowling takes second at Abe Lincoln Invitational, defeats Alton in regular play

This past Saturday, December 1, the Panthers traveled to Springfield, Illinois, to bowl in the 11th Annual Abe Lincoln Invitational at King Pin Lanes. 

After the morning first three games the Panthers boys Varsity team was in first place by 56 pins and the Junior Varsity was in third. But the teams struggled in the afternoon three games.  

The varsity team finished with a solid second place and the Junior Varsity finished in sixth. 

Three of the Panthers achieved individual awards during the day. Kameron Rachell bowled the high game for the day with a nice 298. Sophomore Caleb Horton finished fourth in overall high series with a 219 average. Josh Herran earned first place in individual high series with a 232 average for the day.

Earlier in the week, on November 29th, the OTHS Boys Bowling Team had another conference match win vs Alton away at Hi Top Lanes. The Panthers bowled well their first game, putting up a team series of 1014 with senior captain Donny Richards bowling a 257 followed by senior Ryan Komm with a 197, senior Josh Herran with a 191, and juniors Jordan Peacock with a 188 and Kameron Rachell with a 181. But Alton was able to best them by bowling a 1073.  

The team rallied during the second game with a 1047 team series beating Alton by 110 pins. And again, in the third game the Panthers put up a 1011 beating Alton by 60 pins.  

Series highs for the day were Richards with a 673, Peacock with a 663, Komm with an even 600 and Herran with a 596. The OTHS boys are undefeated so far in the season.

The OTHS boys have their next match on Thursday, December 6, at Bel Air Lanes versus Belleville East.
