The OTHS Boys Varsity Cross Country team continued their outstanding season with a second place team finish against tough Missouri competition in the Dale Shepard Invitational hosted by Parkway West on Saturday.

Senior Captain and area standout Will VanAlstine paced the Panthers with a sixth place finish.

Jr. Will Ray(15th), So. Nick Edwards (17th), and Sr. Jacob Ramirez (24th) also earned medals.  Sr. Brendan Krell placed just out of the medals in 32nd.  Having the top five O’Fallon scorers place so high in the field has continued to be the key to their team success.  In the Freshman race, two O’Fallon runners earned medals: Peyton Mueller placed 14th and Blake Westrater crossed the finish line in 20th place. As a team, the freshman took 5th.  Sophmores Matt Ray (18th) and Nico Parker (22nd) earned medals in the sophomore race, combining with their teammates to place 5th.

In the JV race,  Chris Wichlac placed 3rd with teammates Andrew Joyce (17th) and Tristen Fornes (24th) also included in the medal count.

Next up the Panthers are hosting the St. Clair County Championships on Tuesday October 2 at 4 pm on the Milburn Campus course and travel to Edwardsville for the Southwestern Conference Championships on Thursday October 11th.
