Carl Robert Keck
September 30, 1932 – December 5, 2016
Carl was drafted into the US Army and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He had worked for Cargill Grain Company, New York Central, and Conrail Truck Lines. He was a lifelong farmer and had retired from Teamsters Local Union 50. He enjoyed farming, fishing, and traveling. He liked to spend time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother Glenn and his parents Edwin and Irma , nee Schneider, Keck.
Surviving are his wife of nearly 64 years, Jeanette, nee Swengross, Keck; whom he married December 7, 1952; his four children Carl R. “Bobby” (Rosanne) Keck, Jr., Kathleen M. (Ken) Henschke of Fort Collins, Colo., Michael Edwin (Gwen) Keck, Sr., of Coulterville, Ill., and Randy Keck (significant other Sally Phelps) of Carlyle, Ill.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family is grateful for the kindness and compassion shown to Mr. Keck and his family by the staff at Aviston Countryside Manor. The family received friends from 4:00 – 8:00 pm, Thursday, December 8, 2016 and after 9:00 am, Friday, December 9, 2016 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W. Washington St., O’Fallon, Ill.
The funeral was held at 10:00 am, Friday, December 9, 2016 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, with burial following at Keystone Cemetery, St. Jacob, Illinois.
