O’FALLON – District 90 has added to their ranks, bringing on two new staff members to serve as a curriculum coordinator and an assistant band director.
A little bit about Jill Lyons…
Jill Lyons might be new to District 90, but she has been working in Public Education for more than twenty years. Jill is a native of Greensburg, Kansas and is excited to be the Curriculum Coordinator for District 90. With a bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University and a master’s degree from the University of Kansas, she has worn many hats throughout her career.
Lyons began by serving as a classroom teacher at the elementary and middle school levels in Liberty, Missouri and Charleston, Illinois. In addition, she tackled the role of Literacy Coach and District Literacy Specialist for the Unit 5 School District in Bloomington, Illinois, while also serving as an Elementary Response to Intervention Coordinator in Morton, Illinois. Most recently, Jill stepped up as a District Assistance Team Coach for the American Institutes of Research at the Illinois Center for School Improvement. As if that is not enough experience, she also taught undergraduate courses in elementary education for Kansas State University and Eastern Illinois University.
District 90, Aaron Kennedy is proud to have been given the opportunity to accept a teaching position with a district that he has grown to love.
As Assistant Band Director, Kennedy will be part of the ongoing tradition of stellar musicianship and award winning performing arts that District 90 offers incoming students. This tradition and the rich history of excellence in O’Fallon’s schools, especially with regards to band, has left Kennedy with many goals and hopes as an incoming teacher. Kennedy is especially excited to have the chance to be a part of furthering the growth and achievement level of the program so that he can ensure that all students are receiving the best music education possible.
