O’FALLON – Feed My Lambs, a summer lunch program that serves kids who received free or reduced lunches during the school year, has been keeping busy this summer.

The United Church of Christ (UCC) in O’Fallon has been participating in this program for five years. Other churches that participate include the First United Methodist Church and St. Clare Catholic Church.

Kathy Scott and Allen Garner from UCC  serve “Route Two” which has six stops in O’Fallon. Scott and Garner said their church feeds around 200 children a day. The meal includes a meat and cheese sandwich, fruit, chips, cookies, and a drink.

From Shiloh, throughout O’Fallon, and all the way out to Castle Acres in Fairview Heights, the Feed My Lambs program ensures that the children who get a free or reduced lunch during the school year continue to receive a lunch throughout the summer.
