The Fulton Junior High School Radioactive Robotics team returned to O’Fallon with new hardware from the First LEGO League State Competition at U of I in Champaign on January 26. The team was a finalist for the Core Values Award and earned the Excellence in Project Judges Award.
The team from Fulton went up against 49 other teams at the event.
The idea behind their project was to create an AI robotic dog to help astronauts in space battle depression and loneliness. In preparation for this state event, the team presented last week to the crew at SAIC, a technology integrator company, and consulted with their NASA specialist to learn more. The SAIC team was very impressed with the students’ work.
