O’FALLON – Community members are invited to donate gently-used clothing and household items at the OTHS Golden Girls’ Donation Drive, to be held Saturday July 23 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. at O’Fallon Township High School’s Panther Dome lobby.
The drive’s goal is to raise $1,000 in funds to support the Golden Girls’ upcoming season. Acceptable donations include clothing, shoes, accessories, linens, books, and small household items (no furniture).
All goods collected through the Donation Drive fundraiser program are sold to Savers, the parent company to great thrift stores like Value Village, Unique, and Savers. These qualifying donations in turn are reused by local charities, recycled into reusable items, or resold in their stores.
The Golden Girls Dance Team performs with the OTHS band at parades such as the VP Parade each year, and at school football, basketball games, and pep rallies. They also perform at community events like Relay for Life and the St. Louis Cardinals game. In the winter season, the team represents their school at state-wide competitions.
