Grant C. Votrain
October 15, 1930 – August 9, 2017
Grant grew up in Lebanon and attended Lebanon schools. He began his career at Eagle Range Stove Foundry, where he worked for 20 years. He then worked for St. Clair County in the maintenance division of the Public Building Commission, retiring in 1995. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps, serving during the Korean Conflict. Grant was a member of O’Fallon United Church of Christ, AARP, American Legion Post #137, and a life member of AF & AM Masonic Lodge #110. In his younger years, he was a volunteer Fireman in Lebanon.
He was preceded in death by his parents Edwin William Votrain and Lottie Virginia, nee Schempp, Votrain; infant daughter Sheila Kay Votrain, brothers Edwin Votrain, Jr. and Burnell Votrain, and sisters Vivian Robertson, Norma Taubig, Martha Wise, and Betty Gross
Surviving are his wife Eldoris, nee Hasemann, Votrain; married June 18, 1960 at O’Fallon Evangelical and Reformed Church; children Edwin (Teresa) Votrain of Trenton and Scott (Tammy) Votrain of O’Fallon; grandchildren Alex (Melinda) Votrain, Ashley (Josh) Timmons, Scott (Kirsten) Votrain II, Travis (Lauren) Votrain, Michelle Votrain, and Jason Votrain; sisters Sally Nagy, Delores Merrill, and June (Edward) Sanderson; great-grandchildren Blake, Zane, Lilee, Layton, Colton, Alan “AJ”, Ariel, Aria and Annalynn (on the way); and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home.
Funeral took place at 10:00 am, Monday, August 14, 2017 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, O’Fallon with Pastor Christy Eckert officiating.
Burial followed at College Hill Cemetery, Lebanon, Ill.
