Hockey gets back into the win column

It looks as if the O’Fallon Panther ice hockey team have put their late season woes behind them with a much needed 5-2 victory last week over Bethalto.

A three goal second period combined with a first period tally gave the Panthers all they needed to shut down the Eagles. Captain Hayden Ourada found the back of the net in the first period with help from Jack Wallace and Boeck.

Panther’s Aaron Turner, Ethan Ourada, and Ryan Boeck all scored in the second period. The Eagles cut the score in half, 4-2, early in the third but, an insurance goal from Boeck. Junior Ryan Boeck had four points in the game with two goals and two assists.

O’Fallon goaltender Kristin Smith had another solid showing between the pipes. Smith had a .923 save percentage and stopped 22 of 24 shots.

The team win finish off the regular season schedule in Granite City against Freeburg/Waterloo late on Thursday night.
