Joseph Arthur Tigers head to state championship tourney

The Joseph Arthur Middle School Tigers, the boys basketball team coached by Todd Porter, Sr., has made school history by being the first team to go to the state championships. The boys won their regional game against Pontiac Junior High School by a score of 64-41. The team’s first game in the state tournament is Friday, February 3, at 3:30 p.m. at Rend Lake College where they will face off against the Goreville BlackCats.  A pep rally will be held Friday at 8:15 a.m. and school will release that day at 1:45 p.m. to allow folks to go watch them at Rend Lake.
