Lex White prepared for service as Rotary Club President

Lex WhiteO’FALLON – O’Fallon resident Lex White recently received two days of intensive training and preparation for his anticipated service as The Rotary Club of O’Fallon Club President.

White will assume the Presidency of his club on July 1.  He attended the President-Elect Training Seminar in Effingham in preparation for that service.  White was one of more than 35 Southern Illinois Presidents-Elect to attend the seminar in Effingham.

“Rotary conducts the President-Elect training so that local Presidents can better carry out their tasks in fulfilling Rotary’s motto of “Service before Self,” explained Rotary District 6510 Governor Tom Guebert.

“The Presidents are the sparkplugs of the 34,000 Rotary Clubs worldwide and are the foundation of our global organization,” Guebert continued.  “The better trained the Presidents are, the better the clubs perform, and the better we carry out our mission, both locally and globally.”

White said one of his principal goals for the Rotary Club of O’Fallon next year would be for fun, fellowship, and service.

The O’Fallon Rotary Club was chartered in 1925 with 15 members.  Today, the club has more than 70 members and meets weekly at noon on Monday at the Katy Cavins Community Center.
