LEBANON – The Greater St. Louis Major Case Squad was activated Saturday afternoon after the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department began investigating a body found along Emerald Mound Road.
The victim, Keith Carter, was found about one mile east of Illinois Route 4 in the lot of the township rock pile. The Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a man on the ground at around 2:45 p.m. He was declared dead at the scene.
The Major Case Squad has released photos of two men who they believe may be possible witnesses and may have been with the victim prior to his death. Police believe they may have information that can help the case, indicating Carter’s actions and location.
Carter was as “Lil 2” and “TJ”.
It is believed Carter died from an intentional act, but the possible cause of death is not being released by authorities.
Police are asking that anyone with information about the circumstances of his death call the MCS at (618)825-5200 or the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department at (618)825-2051.
