The four first grade classes at Marie Schaefer Elementary School collected food for the local food pantry as party of their school work learning how to build strong character.
The teachers recently introduced the term “compassion” and began discussing how the students could show compassion for others. The kids were told they could do a Team Compassion Project where they could bring in cans that would be donated to the local food pantry, and the kids ran with it.
Pictured are the students from the four classes, taught by Ryan Logan, Kelsey Cady, Nikki Hansley, and Lita Roberts. The teachers are very proud of them and very thankful to their families for assisting with this project. (Submitted Photo)
