O’FALLON – A group of parents and students recently presented Marie Schaefer Elementary School  with a sign made entirely out of Lego bricks. According to Tracy Duggins, the sign measures 12 feet by 5 feet and weighs nearly 850 pounds. The sign is made up of 110,000 bricks, which stacked on top of each other would reach 3,000 feet up or more than twice the height of the Empire State Building. The project took approximately four months to complete.

The sign was built by first graders Emma Noble and Reese Burton, along with family members and friends.
