Mary Elnora Brown
June 26, 1918 – July 21, 2017
Heaven is a better place today where Mary Elnora Brown, 99, resides for eternity. Mary was born June 26, 1918, the first child of Edna and Earl Schell in Wayne County, Illinois. She married Ralph Brown in 1939 and had three daughters. Her daughter, Linda Katherine, and husband, Ralph, preceded her. She later married Ross Brown. Mary departed this life on July 21, 2017 from her home with her daughter Rosemary (Ron) Tedesco in Shiloh, Illinois.
Mary is also survived by her: Daughter – Christine Brown Franklin of Indianapolis, Indiana; Four grandchildren – Lisa Franklin (Paul) Susemichel of Indianapolis, Indiana, Amy Franklin (Craig) Fletchall of Carmel, Indiana, Bill (Carlin) Tedesco of Houston, Texas, and Laura Tedesco (Tom) Blakey of Belleville, Illinois; Great-grandchildren – Nick and Alex Susemichel of Indianapolis, Indiana, Natalie and Conner Fletchall of Carmel, Indiana, Michael, Mary Catherine, Elizabeth and Sofia Tedesco of Houston, Texas, Steven, Lucas and Joanna Blakey of Belleville, Illinois; Sister – Ruth Reiso of Freeburg, Illinois; And nieces and nephews.
Mary was a good Christian woman, a humble and faithful servant, and a sixty-year member of First Presbyterian Church of East St. Louis and First United Presbyterian Church of Belleville, Illinois.
Mary enjoyed quilting, cooking, gardening, keeping a nice home, visiting with family and friends, especially the children. Mary was a life-long caregiver. She left people and places better than she found them.
Memorial contributions: may be made to First United Presbyterian Church or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 am Monday, July 24, 2017 at First United Presbyterian Church Chapel, 1303 Royal Heights Road, Belleville, Illinois, with Reverend Rob J. Dyer officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Fairfield, Illinois.
