O’FALLON – Moye Elementary third and fifth grade readers, from Mrs. Poteet’s and Mrs. Dressler’s classes, recently took a trip to the Cambridge House to visit the residents and read them a Christmas story.

Each student had practiced reading Christmas stories at school, to each other. They also brought gifts for the residents, which they wrapped at a “wrapping” party before their trip.

Friday, December 14, was the big day when the kids read to Cambridge House residents and gave them their presents. It was hard to tell who enjoyed the event more, the kids or the residents.  Following the stories, the kids and residents ended up visiting with each other and had a great day.  Upon returning to school, the students were treated to a pizza party.
