FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS – BoxLunch, one of the newest establishments of St. Clair Square officially opened its doors to customers last Wednesday, making it the first location in the St. Louis area.

Despite being near the food court, the store is not quite what customers may initially think before walking in.

“We’re a collectible gift store,” said John Ryan, manager of BoxLunch. “Our main purpose is for gifts, but we are all pop culture – so all movies and TV shows are represented for the most part, especially the more popular ones like Disney, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Marvel, DC, Studio Ghibli and anime. For TV, we’re currently rocking the Rick and Morty right now. There’s also Game of Thrones items as well as Nickelodeon and old retro shows so we have a little something for everybody in the store.”

While BoxLunch merchandise includes collectible gifts, there is more to the store than what meets the eye. “Our mission,” continued Ryan, “is to help defeat hunger. For every $10 spent in the store, BoxLunch will donate a meal to feeding America. For example, if a customer buys $40 worth of merchandise, then we will donate four meals on their behalf.”
