O’Fallon armed robbery suspect still at large

Yates, Trent L.On Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at approximately 1:26pm, the O’Fallon Police Department responded to a 9-1-1 call of an armed robbery at the Dollars 4 Gold store located at 1935 West Highway 50, O’Fallon. Two suspects have been identified. One was immediately taken into custody. The second suspect remains at large.

The suspect taken into custody shortly after the incident was identified as Trent L. Yates, 29, of East St. Louis, Illinois.

On Thursday, June 16, 2016 the St. Clair County States Attorney issued a three count criminal complaint against Trent L. Yates. Two counts of Armed Robbery with a Firearm and one count of Attempt Armed Robbery with a bond set at $300,000.

The at large suspect was previously described as a black male, wearing a short sleeve red t-shirt, blue jeans, grey hoodie, greyish black mask covering the bottom half of his face, dark colored nylon head rag and armed with a dark colored semi-automatic handgun. He is known to be 5’ 11” and 150 lbs.

Currently, the O’Fallon Police Department and other agencies are actively searching for the second suspect. He should be considered ARMED and EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. Anyone seeing the suspect, should not take any action but call 9-1-1 immediately.
