O’Fallon resident and MMA fighter Auhston Midkiff won a multi-fight tournament on Friday at River City Casino, giving him the featherweight championship belt and a contract to fight professionally for Shamrock Fighting Championships.
Midkiff defeated Bob Hinchcliffe in the first fight via guillotine choke and Edrick Dillard in the second fight via triangle choke.
“I would like to thank my family and friends, and my teammates and coaches. I feel so blessed and lucky to have them in my corner,” said Midkiff. “Growing up, I was always the little guy and counted out, but my family believed I was going to be a champion, and they were right!”
Midkiff will continue to train with his team as he looks towards his first professional fight.
