O’Fallon officer receives honors from Major Case Squad

O’FALLON – Police Chief Eric Van Hook is pleased to announce that O’Fallon Police Officer Brian Riggar received the Robert G. Lowery, Sr. Award of Investigative Excellence from the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis on March 17, 2017.  The award was presented to Officer Riggar during the Major Case Squad’s annual training conference.

The Robert G. Lowery, Sr. Award of Investigative Excellence is a living memorial to a Major Case Squad Investigator who has demonstrated exemplary character through an act of heroism, outstanding community service, innovation in law enforcement, or leadership reflective of that by which a Major Case Squad Investigator would act.

Officer Riggar has been an active member with the Major Case Squad for five years and currently holds the supervisory position of Deputy Report Officer.  He has been described by Deputy Commanders and Investigators as being “focused, committed, and well-organized.”  The St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s office described Officer Riggar as “dependable, always prepared, trustworthy, and always willing to go the extra mile.”

Officer Riggar is the second member of the O’Fallon Police Department to receive this honor; Captain Jim Cavins received the award in 2014.
