O’FALLON – The seventh annual Citizen Police Academy class graduated on Tuesday, Oct. 23.

O’Fallon Police Department’s Citizen Police Academy is an eight week program that offers a comprehensive view of policing within the City of O’Fallon. 

The program, lead by Captain Kirk Brueggeman, was taught by members of the O’Fallon Public Safety Department and consisted of instruction, practicals and education on numerous topics. 

Some of the topics and training included in the program are: agency history and structure, police operations, patrol tactics, traffic stops/DUI, current drug trends, general investigations, firearm training, response to resistance, CPR and AED training, fire safety/ demos, Major Case Squad, 911 communications and an eight hour ride—a—long with an officer.
