O’Fallon ranked fifth best city in Illinois for families to live

O’FALLON – Mayor Gary L. Graham is pleased to announce that O’Fallon was recently named the fifth Best City for Illinois Families in 2016 by WalletHub, a consumer advocacy site. To identify the most family-friendly Illinois cities, WalletHub’s analysts compared 162 cities in Illinois across 21 key metrics.

“It is an honor to be ranked as one of the top communities in Illinois for families,” said Mayor Graham. “O’Fallon is a great place in which to live, work and play in, and this ranking is just another measure of that.”

Out of the 162 cities studied, O’Fallon was ranked:

  •  Second in Housing Affordability
  •  Fifth in General Affordability
  •  35th in Percentage of Families with Children Under 18
  •  36th in Number of Playgrounds per 100,000 Residents

O’Fallon (5th) and Edwardsville (12th) were the only communities south of Springfield to be ranked in the top 50.
