O’FALLON – The O’Fallon United Church of Christ invites everyone to bring out their furry friends and take part in their annual pet blessing event.

The blessing will take place at the church on Saturday, October 1, at 9 a.m. All animals are welcome, from dogs to cats, fish to rabbits, and even helper monkeys.

In addition to the pet blessing event, there will be lots of other activities as well. An “Ask the Vet” booth will be available, hosted by the church’s own Dr. Gary Gass. Representatives from Spencer Kennel and Animal Shelter, along with other local pet related businesses such as Lucky Dog Barks and Recreation, will be on site. And if you don’t have a pet and want one, adoptable pets from Spencer’s will be present as well.

The church’s Youth Group is sponsoring the event as a community service project. Donations are requested for Spencer Kennel and Shelter. The following items are requested: Purina One Smartblend Adult Dry Dog Food, Purina One Puppy Dry Dog Food, Purina One Smartblend Dry Cat Food, canned cat food, canned dog food, plain raw hide strips, and Purina Kitten Chow.

O’Fallon UCC is located at 206 West Adams Street in O’Fallon.
