OTHS Hockey team slides past Triad

hockeyThe O’Fallon hockey team won their game against Triad on Tuesday evening in a shootout winning 11-5.

The Panthers had seven players each with goals, and five players each with an assist.

Senior Hayden Ourada and Junior Jack Wallace got the Panthers on the board early with two goals coming from Hayden and one from Wallace. The Panthers would strike three times before Triad put the puck in the net.

It was then Sophomore Ethan Ourada’s turn to put the puck in the net to give the Panthers a 5-3 lead after Triad scored when the Panthers were down to just three players on the Ice to Triad’s five, and this would be the closest Triad would get the rest of the evening.

Joey Kurrasch and Graham Sudduth each scored goals to help increase their lead near the end of the game to make it 7-3 and Junior Travis Manthe would also help by tacking another another score with an assist by Sudduth to take an 8-3 lead.

Hayden Ourada and Ethan Ourada’s contributions would then come to play in the clutch moment of the game to take a 10-3 lead over Triad in the final minutes of the third period.

A Panther goal by Zach Winkler assisted by Senior Aaron Turner would seal the deal for the Panthers as they got their third win of the season to stay perfect on the year at 3-0, beating Triad 11-5.

The Ourada’s each had three goals on the evening, with Kurrasch, Wallace, Sudduth, Manthe, and Winkler each with one.

Wallace, Turner, and Suddith each had two assists, while Kurrasch and Junior Logan Drolet had one assist each.

The Blue and Gold will take on Columbia at the East Alton Ice Arena this Thursday at 7:15pm.
