OTHS to continue remote learning until February 1

O’FALLON – In an email sent to students and parents, Superintendent Darcy Benway stated that OTHS will continue remote learning until at least February 1, 2021, due to COVID-19 concerns.

The full email is below…

OTHS Students and Families,

As you are aware, prior to winter break, OTHS decided to remain in remote learning for the start of the second semester.  The plan was to continue to evaluate the COVID-19 metrics to determine when to open the doors to return to a level of in-person instruction.

At this time, given the current spread of the virus in our community, it has been decided that OTHS will continue in remote learning until Monday, February 1st.  School leaders will continue to monitor the metrics.  The safety of our students and employees remains our top priority.

We will continue to monitor Covid-19 metrics very closely and will keep you posted regarding if any changes in this plan become necessary.

Thank you for your partnership as we continue to work through the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr. Darcy G. Benway, Superintendent
