Painting with a Twist holds ribbon cutting at Shiloh studio

Painting with a Twist

SHILOH – The O’Fallon-Shiloh Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce a ribbon cutting ceremony for Painting with a Twist, 3760 Green Mount Crossing, Shiloh.  The ceremony took place at noon on April 13, 2016.

“We think Painting with a Twist will be a great addition to our community,” said Chamber Executive Director Debbie Arell-Martinez.

Painting With A Twist was started in 2007 by Cathy Deano and Renee Maloney in Mandeville, LA. The concept pairs instructional art with friends, wine and a lively instructor to produce individual works of art.

All talent levels are welcome. They will show you, step by step, how to create a work of art that you will be proud of and want to hang up on your wall. They have local artists right there in the studio with you providing tips, tricks and techniques to get you from start to finish. Everyone in the class paints the same picture, but they all come out differently because we are all different. So, if you want your roof to be purple and not white, no problem.

Beverly and her family moved to the O’Fallon area in 2010 after being transferred here for a job. Having traveled all over the country doing construction management, Beverly was looking for an opportunity to stay at home in the area and be closer to her family. After attending several classes in Texas while working on a job in Temple, Beverly felt that O’Fallon needed a place where art and fun could come together. So, she bought a franchise.

“I have always dreamed of owning my own business. Painting with a Twist is so much more than a Sip and Paint studio. We are all like family. My hope is to make Painting with a Twist as much fun to everyone here as it has been for me. We believe strongly in giving back to the community and I look forward to sharing my love of art with all of you, for years to come,” she said.

To sign up to participate, go to www.paintingwithatwist.com  Click on the Shiloh location and it will show you local monthly events.

The cost to participate is $35 a person for a two hour class, and $45 a person for a three hour class. It includes your canvas, your paint, apron, easel, brushes, and fun. They also provide corkscrews, wine glasses, plates, napkins, utensils and ice buckets. At the end of the class, you will have a one of a kind masterpiece and hopefully a newfound talent you’ll want to explore.

The office hours will be Tuesday through Friday from noon until 5 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Painting with a Twist offers open class daily and if you wish to schedule a private party, they do that too. Private parties are for a group of ten or more and you can request a date and time right from their website.
