Panthers boys bowling racks up pair of conference wins

This past week the OTHS Boys Bowling Team had two conference matches, with the Panthers capturing wins at both. 

Their first match was Monday, December 3, against Collinsville High School. The first game the Panthers won putting up a 1075 against Collinsville’s 962. Again, in the second game the Panthers bowled a nice 1055 as a team easily beating their opponents 871 series. The team struggled the last game only bowling a 831 but had enough overall points to win the match.  

High series for the Panthers were junior Kameron Rachell with a 641, senior Ryan Komm with a 603 and junior Jordan Peacock with an even 600.

Their second conference win of the week was on Thursday, December 6, against Belleville East High School. The Panthers bowled a good game their first game with a 1014 series but Belleville East was able to best them bowling a 1098. But the Panthers rallied back bowling an even better series of 1067 the second game out scoring their opponents 973.  And again, in the third game putting up a 1044 to Belleville’s 1028. 

High series for the day were junior Josh Herran with a very nice 661, junior Kameron Rachell with a 631, and senior Ryan Komm with a 623. 

The OTHS Boys Bowling team remains undefeated in their conference for the season.  

“The teams have worked hard to position themselves for another run at the conference championship,” Coach Mike Imes said. 

According to team captain Donny Richards “We are playing like a team. When one of us struggles the others are there to pick up the slack.”  

The Panthers next bowling matches are December 11th at Bel Air Lanes and December 13th at Camelot Lanes.
