The O’Fallon boys golf team ended their season on Monday at the Edwardsville Sectional at Sunset Hills.

The Panthers faced a tough course and strong competition and finished ninth with a team score of 347. Unfortunately, none of the teams or individuals from the southwestern conference advanced to the state finals.

The top three teams to advance from the sectional included Homewood-Flossmoor (317), Normal University High (326) and Lockport (330).

Earlier in the week, the O’Fallon Panthers won the Class 3A Regional held Tuesday, October 2, at Tamarack golf course.

O’Fallon hosted the Regional on their home course this year and took full advantage of that rare opportunity. The Panthers fired a team score of 299 for their first regional title since 2005. O’Fallon finished three strokes ahead of second place Edwardsville (302) and third place Quincy (318).

O’Fallon, along with Edwardsville and Quincy, advanced to the Class 3A Sectional held on October 8 at Sunset Hills Country Club in Edwardsville.

Senior Taylor Patterson lead the way for the Panthers with a 1-over-par score of 72 and earned medalist honors.  O’Fallon had three of the top five individuals in the Regional.  The Panthers score included first place Taylor Patterson (72), third place Logan Lowery (74), fifth place Ethan Ourada (75), Caden Cannon (78), Josh Krneta (87) and Blake Holliday (95).
