Petitions for municipal elections available soon

O’FALLON – Are you interested in running for a spot on the city council? Maybe mayor? Packets containing nominating petitions will be available soon at City Hall.

O’Fallon City Clerk Phil Goodwin announced recently that the necessary nominating paperwork to have your name placed on the April 4, 2017 ballot will be available beginning September 20. Packets can be picked up during regular business hours Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Offices up for election include Mayor, City Clerk, Treasurer, and Aldermen for each of the city’s seven wards with one alderman elected from each ward to a four-year term.

Once you’ve obtained the necessary number of signatures and completed all of the required paperwork, the filing period begins at 8 a.m. on December 12 and will run through 5 p.m. on December 19.
