Police asking public to help ID robbery suspect

IMG_0026O’FALLON – The public is being asked to assist the O’Fallon Police in identifying a man suspected of robbing the Hardee’s near Community Park at gunpoint Monday morning.

O’Fallon Police responded to a call at 6:03 a.m. at the Hardee’s located at 110 East Highway 50 in reference to an armed robbery that had just occurred.

The security cameras did get a photo of the male suspect who is described as a black male, five-feet eight-inches tall, with a small build, weighing approximately 150 pounds. He had a distinct mole under his left eye and was wearing a blue bandana covering half his face and a gray University of Illinois sweatshirt turned inside out.

The suspect is reported to be driving a tan hatchback or small SUV and he travelled northbound on Parkview Drive away from Hardee’s.

There were customers inside of the Hardee’s in addition to the employees at the time of the robbery, however, no one was injured.

Police were still processing the crime scene until the restaurant re-opened around 9:30 a.m.  This Hardee’s location was robbed previously in 2012.
