O’FALLON – Mayor Herb Roach presented Gwendolyn Randolph to the council for approval as the newest Ward 5 Alderwoman.

Randolph was one of five individuals who submitted resumes to the city for consideration for position in Ward 5 recently vacated by Courtney Marsh. The term of office for this appointment will be until the April 2019 election. A two-year term will be voted on by Ward 5 residents at that time.

Randolph’s appointment was supported by a unanimous vote of the council.

Alderwoman Randolph served eight years in the United States Navy, four years with the Tennessee parole board, and has been involved in education for the last 17 years. She has her bachelor’s and master’s degrees, and is working on her doctorate. Randolph is currently the Science Content Specialist for East St. Louis School District 189.
