Icide-2-RESIZEDRosemary Catherine Icide, nee Vunetich, age 88, of O’Fallon Township, born July 28, 1928 in East St. Louis, Ill., passed away Saturday evening, January 14, 2017 at Four Fountains Convalescent Center, Belleville, Ill.

Rosemary was a longtime, active member at O’Fallon First United Methodist Church, where she volunteered many hours in the church office as a counter and creating activity packets for the children. She was formerly a teller at Belleville Savings Bank. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed sewing, needlework, macrame, and making her own baskets. She was a master canner and fabulous baker and was well-known for her famous kolaches. Mrs. Icide was a member of Lebanon Lioness Club and PEO Chapter LJ.

Preceding her in death were her parents Joseph and Alice, nee Steiner, Vunetich; her husband Virgil, whom she married May 22, 1948 and who passed away November 25, 2009; her daughter and son-in-law Robyn Marie and Dewey Petersen; her sisters Edna Pococa, Fran Johnson; and her brothers Joseph, Charles, John, and Raymond Vunetich.

Surviving are her children Amy (Lawrence) Murano of O’Fallon, and Chris ( Debby) Icide of Moss Beach, Calif., grandson Stephen (Lindsay) St. John; great-grandsons William and Henry St. John, and sisters Josephine Goodman of Springfield, Ill., and Judy (James) Peters of O’Fallon.

Visitation: The family will receive friends 5:00 – 8:00 pm, Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, O’Fallon, Ill., and 10:00 – 10:45 am, Thursday, January 19, 2017 at O’Fallon First United Methodist Church, 504 E. Highway 50, O’Fallon.

Funeral: Services will begin at 11:00 am, Thursday, January 19, 2017 at the church. Burial will immediately follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
