Suspect charged in St. Clair Bowl shooting

On 12-12-18 at approximately 10:48 PM the O’Fallon Police Department responded to St. Clair Bowl (5950 Old Collinsville Rd) in regard to a shots fired call.  Upon arrival, investigating officers discovered that one subject had been shot inside the upstairs bar area.  The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threating injuries.

The case was presented to the St. Clair County States Attorney’s Office on 12-14-18.  Upon reviewing the case the suspect, Brett J. Pinion, 27 years of age from Fairview Heights, IL, was charged with the following:

Count 1:  Aggravated Battery / Discharge of a Firearm (Class X Felony)

Count 2:  Aggravated Battery / Deadly Weapon (Class 3 Felony)

Count 3:  Aggravated Battery / Public Place (Class 3 Felony)

Count 4:  Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon (Class 4 Felony)

Pinon’s bond was set at $150,000.00.  He is being held at the St. Clair County Jail. 

Pinion was able to be located and taken into custody shortly after the incident due to the cooperation from numerous metro-east law enforcement agencies including: Fairview Heights Police, St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department, Shiloh, Il Police Department, Troy, IL Police Department, Columbia, IL Police Department, and the Illinois State Police.
