Lebanon’s new grocery store holds grand opening

LEBANON- People packed into the new Don’s IGA for it’s grand opening on a dreary Wednesday afternoon. Located at 651 S. Madison street across from the Shell station, Don’s is the only grocery store in Lebanon.

Lebanon mayor given emergency powers by council

The Lebanon City Council unanimously passed an ordinance at their March 30 electronic meeting giving Mayor Rich Wilken a wide array of powers that will allow him to make quick decisions and issue city-wide orders to combat the COVID-19 Virus. Alderwoman Jessica Zurliene was absent. The ordinance was issued in accordance with the Illinois Governor’s declaration and will remain in effect through the next City Council Meeting that will be electronically held on Monday, April 13. It is anticipated that the timeframe on the ordinance will be extended at the end of each Council Meeting, following directives from the Governor.
