Kixx September Showdown event showcases new turf at Sports Park

O’FALLON – The 2017 Kixx September Showdown brought teams to O’Fallon from many surrounding states and cities. Teams from Iowa, Illinois, Missouri and more gathered to compete on the new turf fields that the O’Fallon Sports Park.

Each team played a minimum of three games and a few lucky teams were able to play a fourth and final championship game.  Overall, the September Showdown was dominated by Kixx Teams and many of the final championship games were Kixx Team versus Kixx Team.

Officials kick goal to open first of new soccer fields at Sports Park

O’FALLON – The soccer fields being built at the Family Sports Park as part of the Destination O’Fallon project reached a big milestone on Thursday, as city and county officials came together to dedicate the first field to be completed.

Parks and Recreation Director Mary Jeanne Hutchison thanked and praised the work of the many contractors and developers that worked hard to ensure the opening took place near the end of the summer.

The field that opened Thursday is the first of eight all-weather lighted fields to be built.

West entrance of city’s Sports Park closed to traffic until further notice

O’FALLON –  Beginning on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, the west entrance (coming from Venita Road) of the O’Fallon Family Sports Park will be closed to traffic for construction. It is unknown, at this time, when the entrance will be reopened to traffic.

This closure will not affect Venita Road or the east entrance (coming from Obernuefemann Road) of the O’Fallon Family Sports Park.
