The Weekly visits NYC

Weekly reader Paula Wells of Lebanon and her friend Dimi Tsolakis from Australia send us photos from their recent trip to New York City. At left, they display their copy of the Weekly on the Brooklyn Bridge. At right, the pair pose in New York City’s Central Park at IMAGINE among strawberry fields. 

Paula and Dimi spent five days touring New York City – walking the bridge, visiting the 9/11 Memorial, attending a Mets game, taking in the Guggenheim Museum, riding the Roosevelt Tram, checking out Wall Street, Times Sq. Central Park and much more.

The Weekly heads to Shreveport for Louise’s 13th birthday

Weekly reader Arline Magee recently traveled to Shreveport, LA to celebrate her granddaughter Louise’s 13th Birthday.

The Weekly heads to Zaborze on mission work and British Columbia, Canada

The Weekly recently went on a trip with members of O’Fallon First United Methodist Church. This is the 12th year that the O’Fallon UMC has sent a mission team to assist a Polish Methodist Church with the “Indian Village’ (Bible school/day camp) in Zaborze, located between Warsaw and Krakow. Pictured from left are the team members at the camp:  Ruth Hundley (O’Fallon UCC), Jeff Sedberry (Aspermont, TX), Emily Barylske, Jerry Albrecht, Rich Lunan, Carol Lunan, Vivian Rohleder, Diane Peach (Granite City), Melissa Beecher and Jean Albrecht. Those in bold print have gone multiple times. This year’s camp had 380 children in attendance so it’s easy to see why they love returning.

Weekly readers John and Joy Bode brought their copy of the paper to Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Pictured is the couple with the British Columbia Parliament Building in the background. The Bode’s were in Victoria for a family wedding. We hope you had a wonderful time!

The Weekly Traveler – The Weekly heads to camp with Boy Scout Troop 46

Members of Boy Scout Troop 46, based out of the First United Methodist Church in O’Fallon, traveled to the National Scout Jamboree located at the Summitt Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve in Glen Jean, West Virginia, and they brought a copy of the Weekly with them.

The boys with a contingent of scouts from the local area as part of Troop 2245. They were there from July 18-28 camping in tents along with 30,000 other participants and leaders from across the United States and from a few foreign countries. While they were there they were able to experience activities such as scuba diving, zip lining, BMX biking, whitewater rafting, rock climbing, a visit from the President of the United States, patch trading, and so  much more. They all had a great time at this once in a lifetime event!

The scouts pictured are, in the front row, Conner McGinnis, Josh McIntyre, Tommy Fulford,Ryan Pineda, Jack Lloyd. Pictured in the back row are Brady Boisjoli, Braden Gaab, William Haberl, Patrick Bramble, Sam Geideman, and Sam Becker. Jacob Pekala attended but not pictured. Troop 46 meets out of the First United Methodist Church in O’Fallon on Monday evenings.
